Thank you for joining IvyLearn Academy. We IvyLearn Academy (“IvyLearn Academy”, “we”, “us”) respect your privacy and want you to understand how we collect, use, and share data about you. This Privacy Policy covers our data collection practices and describes your rights regarding your personal data.
Unless we link to a different policy or state otherwise, this Privacy Policy applies when you visit or use the IvyLearn Academy websites. It also applies to prospective customers of our business and enterprise products.
By using the Services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. You shouldn’t use the Services if you don’t agree with this Privacy Policy or any other agreement that governs your use of the Services.
User Data & Identifiers
Personal data that we need to create your account and that enables you to use the Services.
The specific types of information we collect will depend upon the Services you use, how you use them, and the information you choose to provide. The types of data we collect directly from you includes name, alias, email address, postal or billing address, zip code, account name, phone number, social media profiles, or other similar identifiers.
Payment Information
If you sign up for a free trial or make purchases, we collect certain data about your purchase (such as your name, billing address, and ZIP code) as necessary to process your order and which may be saved to process future orders. The exact personal data collected and used will vary depending on the payment method.
You must provide certain payment and billing data directly to our payment service providers, including your name, credit card information, billing address, and ZIP code. We may also receive limited information, like the fact that you have a new credit card and the last four digits of that card, from payment service providers to facilitate payments. IvyLearn Academy does not collect or store sensitive cardholder data, such as full credit card numbers or card authentication data.
Other Information
Additional data you may choose to give us includes:
- demographic information such as your gender or other information;
- user-generated content you provide to us, such as when you upload a project, upload courses and other educational content, leave a class review, ask or answer a question, or otherwise participate in a public discussion forum;
- information you provide when you participate in a survey or research study, including testimonials;
- participation in promotions, sweepstakes or contests, or other marketing promotions;
- Information you provide when you communicate with our customer support team; and
- Information about others, including email address, for referral invitations.
Usage Data
When you use our Services, we collect and analyze:
- technical data such as your IP address, browser types, browser language, operating system, software and hardware attributes (including device IDs), online identifiers such as cookie data, referring and exit pages, and URLs;
- site usage patterns such as the number of clicks, mouse movements, scrolling, and time spent on a page;
- navigation data such as pages viewed and the order of those pages, date and time of use, session duration, and error logs;
- learning data such as content or classes watched, total minutes watched, and categories of classes you search for; and
- Other similar information.
General (non-precise) location
Your general location includes country, region, or state. We may learn this from technical data (e.g. your IP address, language setting of your device) or payment currency.
Third Party Services
If you link, connect, or login to the Services with a third party service (e.g. Google, Facebook, or Apple), you direct the service to send us information such as your registration and profile information as controlled by that service or as authorized by you via your privacy settings at that service.
Information from other sources
We also obtain information from other sources. We protect this information according to the practices described in this Privacy Policy, plus any additional restrictions imposed by the source of the data.
These sources vary over time, but could include:
- service providers that help us determine a location based on your IP address in order to customize our service and for other uses consistent with this Privacy Policy;
- security service providers who provide us with information to secure our systems, prevent fraud, and help us protect the security of IvyLearn Academy accounts;
- payment service providers who provide us with payment or balance information, or updates to that information, based on their relationship with you;

- publicly-available sources such as publicly available posts on social media platforms and information available through public databases associating IP addresses with internet service providers; and

How we use the Personal Data we collect about you
We use the data we collect through your use of the Services to:
- Provide and administer the Services, including to facilitate participation in educational content, issue completion certificates, display customized content, and facilitate communication with other users (Account Data; Shared Content; Learning Data; System Data; Usage Data; Approximate Geographic Data);
- Communicate with you about your account by (Account Data; Shared Content; Learning Data; Sweepstakes, Promotions, and Surveys; System Data; Communications and Support):
- Responding to your questions and concerns;
- Sending you administrative messages and information, including messages from instructors, students, and teaching assistants; notifications about changes to our Service; and updates to our agreements;
- Sending you information, such as by email or text messages, about your progress in courses and related content, rewards programs, new services, new features, promotions, newsletters, and other available instructor-created content (which you can opt out of at any time);
- Sending push notifications to your wireless device to provide updates and other relevant messages (which you can manage from the “options” or “settings” page of the mobile app);
- Manage your account and account preferences and personalize your experience (Account Data; Learning Data; Student Payment Data; Instructor Payment Data; System Data, Usage Data, Cookie Data);
- Facilitate the Services’ technical functioning, including troubleshooting and resolving issues, securing the Services, and preventing fraud and abuse (Account Data; Student Payment Data; Instructor Payment Data; Communications and Support; System Data; Approximate Geographic Location);
Who We Share Your Data With
IvyLearn Academy will share your information in the following ways:
Affiliates and Subsidiaries
To support us in providing, integrating, promoting, and improving the Services, we may share personal information within our corporate family of companies that are related by common ownership or control.
With Your Consent or at Your Direction
Where you provide consent, we share your information as described at the time of consent, such as when authorizing a third-party application or website to access your IvyLearn Academy account or participating in promotional activities by IvyLearn Academy partners or third parties.
Service Providers
We share Personal Data with vendors, service providers, and agents who work on our behalf and provide us with services related to the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or our Terms of Service. These parties include:
- Payment processors

We and our service providers use cookies, web beacons, pixels, session replay/screen capture, and similar technologies to collect information and personalize your experience with our Services.

- The right to access, modify, correct, and delete Personal Data about you (see the “Accessing, Modifying, and Correcting Collected Personal Data” section below for more information);
- The right to know with whom we have shared your Personal Data, for what purposes, and what Personal Data has been shared (including whether Personal Data was disclosed to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes);
- The right to withdraw your consent, where processing of Personal Data is based on your consent; and

Modifications to This Privacy Policy
From time to time, we may update this Privacy Policy. If we make any material change to it, we will notify you via email, through a notification posted on the Services, or as required by applicable law. We will also include a summary of the key changes. Unless stated otherwise, modifications will become effective on the day they are posted.
As permitted by applicable law, if you continue to use the Services after the effective date of any change, then your access and/or use will be deemed an acceptance of (and agreement to follow and be bound by) the revised Privacy Policy. The revised Privacy Policy supersedes all previous Privacy Policies.
